    Buy an Indesit.

Indesit 1 - lasted 14 years. I left it in my first house for the newly
    married people.

Indesit 2 - lasted 14 years before the bearings went.

Indesit 3 - is 5 years old, so 9 years to go then.

Be grateful it's not a fridge. My emergency backup beer fridge has just
turned up its little electric toes.

Rang the council who will post me a form out, to arrange disposal.

I wonder how much this is going to cost me.

It's no fucking wonder that most of the local laybys feature a display
    of white goods.

    Grr...

  3. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "platypus"
    A snapring? Nasty.

ICBW but local councils usually dispose FOC in a bid to prevent the
    roadside display.

  6. I remember that!

We've got the phone number of a local bod who fixes fridges and
freezers. When our freezer turned warm, he sorted it for (IIRC) about 45
    quid. Compressor went pop.

    Check your yellow pages.

It's really not worth it. It started doing this a few years back, when
it was the primary fridge. It got replaced under warranty (eventually)
and I shifted it to the garage to await disposal. On a whim, I plugged
it in, and it hadn't missed a beat since, up until it died again.

Now I want the garage space back.

Actually, thinking about it I recall a thread about unusual loads
carried on the back of a bike(1). Salad Dodger carried a fridge on the
back of the 'wing. Is the Blingmobile not up to the job?

    (1) Can't find it in google.

This is a full-height, built in fridge-freezer. CofG might be a bit of
