    175 miles Bristol to Manchester.
    My waterproofs are waterproof (yay).
I feel like I've been punched in the *brain*; I had to slipstream an HGV
    round Birmingham.
I want something with a fairing.

When I was doing a few pre-Frankfurt test runs on the Z200, I was getting
about 40mph into a headwind on the M4. First truck that came by, I
slipstreamed like a motherfucker, got 55 all the way to Jn 13. Also, coming
back from Montmort-Lucy some years ago on the Drifter, again into a
headwind, I was able to get a decent increase in mph by tucking in behind
Paul Carmichael's hard luggage. And back when I owned a Beetle, I
    slipstreamed everything in sight.

  7. There's a definite calm spot about 50 to 60 feet behind a container
lorry travelling at 60mph, so you don't have to be up close to
    slipstream on a small bike.

Not a good idea on a small autolubed 2-stroke as the oil pump is
controlled by the throttle cable. Trucks and vans pulling you along the
motorway at 60-65 is great until the engine on your ex-girlfriend's
KE100 seizes because you've had the throttle only 1/4 to 1/2 open and
not allowing much oil through. "No I wasn't thrashing it, I only had
the throttle half way when it seized" is not a good enough excuse,
    apparently.

I was much closer than that - I'd picked up a German who was going maybe
three or four MPH faster than all the other trucks, and I didn't want to
lose him. I'd guess I was about 20 ft back

it was so fucking windy that the felt roof covering on my shed 1/2
blew off, so I had to go out in the pissing rain and nail it back
    down.

Which was a bit of a **** of a job first thing on a bank-holiday
    Monday.

One sticking out either side and a slightly larger
    one hanging in the middle?

The slightly larger one in the middle was higher than the other two, and
    sticking out a bit.
