  6. what you should do is get them to baby/dog sit on the Friday so you
can go out and do the romantic thing without the crowds and bullshit.

He could take her out on the bike.
Then when the chain snaps they can bond together.

    Possibly literally.

  9. So remind me again - why should we 'celebrate' this
    manufactured travesty of a celebration?

Even disregarding the fact that they nicked the day
from the old Roman festival of Lupercal.. (although there is
some doubt about this but it seems to fit as Lupercal was a fertility
    festival.)

  16. Err.. as an excuse to spend too much on presents that will be broken
by the end of the day? And to eat and drink far, far to
excess and pretend that we enjoy it?

    Bah humbug[1].

Some of us manage to buy presents that are appreciated, and will, in
some cases, last an appreciable amount of the time remaining until the
    heat death of the universe.

If you eat and drink too much, that's kind of your fault.
Well *duh* :) You're welcome here to find out how they managed to
implement what behaves as an NT4 domain on win2k. Then upgrade the
    lot to XP :)
