It's me again, killed the Divvy again. Gasket still intact though following
the 'cereal packet and gasket goo' thread a while back.Nice one.

This time it's the exhaust, according to the MOT chap it's blowing
'excessively', in other words no more than it was last time but he's
covering his arse. Provided we can get the studs out (which is proving
difficult) I'm in need of a whole new twin-pipe exhaust (I'm happy with a
single as long as I get the thing on the road again). I really can't be
arsed with getting the current one welded. Plus a new can will go with the
new fairing and tart the whole thing up a bit.

Can't find any websites NOT selling race cans so I turn to you chaps again.
Any ideas where I can get one for less than 200 quid?

    Yours hopefully

    Ree

Got a new single for my divvy last month and I'm very happy with it. Most
people on this group told me to steer clear of Motad so I did, even though
the prices were about the best I could find. I ended up with a Predator
(thanks to whoever it was who recommended it, I cant be arsed to google).
Anyway full stainless system (single can) cost me just over £350, you'll be
hard pushed to find one for less than that.

  3. I got a Motad Nexxus for £315.

Makes your bike sound like a sewing machine.

Some people say it obstructs the sump plug. It does but only a bit.
You can get a ring spanner to it but not a socket.

You won't get cheaper that 300. Second hand systems are like hen's
    teeth.

Getting the old one off is hell.

Seriuosly if you can sell the bike. I wish I had.

Soak the studs in release oil for a couple of evenings running and then take
it for a run to get it nice and hot before you start, every nut on mine came
off easy, go have a cup of tea and let every thing cool down then refit new
    system. Job done.

But gets it running again, so he can ride the bloody thing. Maybe I'm not
understanding this right, but valuable or not, a bike is still a hoot to
    ride.

Yup. Buy lots of Gun Gum paste and stuff, plaster it on, hope the
buyer doesn't notice, and sell the thing.
