Sorry to put this on here, but they are just so rare.

I'm looking for Suzuki RG500. Very rare and hard to find. Prefer Vic /
Melbourne area, but open to national. In good condition. Doesn't have
to be perfect, but can't be a wreck needing 4 pistons and 2 cranks.
Prefer with RWC, but not required and price will then reflect.

Not interested in dreamers or time wasters. No inflated prices. If you
have something that may be of interest, please contact me at:

or maybe leave a message here.

Not really interested in the RZ500 (too heavy for me) or the NS400R
    (parts too hard).

    Many thanks,

PS. Selling the VTR1000. Open to a swap if anyone's interested

Your best bet is to keep an eye on "Just Bikes" and "Australian
Motorcycle Trader" magazines. They pop up in there occasionally.

  4. Not really interested in the RZ500 (too heavy for me)
    ???

The specifications for the RZ500 seem to be all over the place on the
    web.
    I've seen up to 500 pounds (RG500 site) down to 438 pounds(dry)
although my RZ500L workshop manual says 439 pounds with Oil and full
    fuel tank.

The difference seems to be around 40 pounds in most sites (RG500 sites
    aside),
or roughly 20kg. Or around the same weight as a VTR1000.

Remember though, this is 'street' trim. The RZ500 responds very well to
    mods
in both power output and weight reduction. (I believe you can loose
    10kg with
a new set of pipes alone) 130hp is readily achievable, if your mad
    enough to want
to ride one with that much power and power delivery characteristics.

    Rob. (and yes, I'm biased.)

RZ500, heavy'ish. Similar to a VTR, but still heavier than the RG.
I've heard it's not a bad bike, but the RG as just got me :) I like
    the NS400R, if it were a 500 four :)

The RG is the one. I'm also looking at then change the front end for an
RGV upside down forks, wheel, discs etc. and then change the rear wheel
to an RGV one with at least 150 or maybe 160 tire.

Find a bike first, find a bike first :0)

Last thing you want is loose pipes. Better than losing them though...

Your best bet is the RG500 into the RGV rolling chassis conversion,
theres several of them around. You get handling and better tires
    easier.

  8. If your prepared to customise, then don't discount the RZ500
until you actually find an RG500.

Yamaha are very much a 'parts bin' company, and some track
RZ500s now sport YZF600/1000 front ends.

Here is an interesting page on some mods, and what you can
    expect.
