But if folks think a massive tax on oil companies is the answer,
remember corporations do not pay tax, consumers do.
Any tax levied at the corporate level will be instantly and immediately
felt at the retail level.
Further, just think of what George Bush might do with a sudden revenue
windfall equal, say to $1.00 for each gallon of gasoline sold in the US.
Hell he'd have enough money to invade Iran!

I wouldn't be hoping Hillary, if she gets into office will be any
better. The first time some tin pot dictator tries to flex his
international muscles Hillary will have to prove she is tougher than
both Bush's combined. She is going to need that buck per gallon.

Now if you are thinking of a massive tax married to some form of price
controls, that flushing sound you hear would be the sound of US dollars
being flushed out of your country and ending up in the global economy. A
lot of it would end up in Alberta.

Energy costs money. Either reduce your consumption or get used to paying
more.

I said in my original post, that Exxon seems to be making more money
than ever , and doing it by raising gas prices, and doing it during a
recession.

To most Americans, not Canadians, it is the high price of gas, not
groceries, not clothes, not renting movies, they are concerned with high
prices at the gas pump! This is where they feel it is not fair, and
that the government should step in some way or another.

Whether that is possibel or not, doesnt keep most Americans from
complaining..

We Americans have always thought that the Bushes, and the Cheneys are
part of the problem, since theyve made a lotta money in Oil, and since
they started a war in Iraq.

So, they should've come up with a solution.

Now, Calgary, it is possible that we'll have John Boring MeCain in the
