Wakko has good idea about 70+Ride

Discussion in 'Texas Bikers' started by ßjay jøhñ§øñ, Jan 12, 2005.

  1. I read Wakko's idea, about Bill Walker someday challenging another older
Biker to Make an Endurance Ride Contest.
You know, challenging an older rider from
the Boyz from Rec.NG. Do we know if they have any older men, that Ride
motorcycles, like, over 60 yrs of age??
I kinda assume that txMoto has several old Bikers, from chatting with
and reading about the boyz in here, !!
    ---------------------------------------------
How would it work? I guess they'd agree on the milage and the trip
route, and the one that either quits, or stops the most to rest, would
loose. And/or, they could square off, and duke it out, if both
rightfully completed the endurance trip and abided by the rules. I am
joshing one way, but I'mserious in another way.

  5. Ardys would bury him, no joke.

Read this article from the UT Daily Texan about her. She is a bona fide
living legend in motorcycling. We should be proud to have her in Texas.

    http://www.dailytexanonline.com/news/2003/09/19/Focus/Leader.Of.The.Pack-
    470539.shtml

    exerpt:

"It's not that she's driven her BMW motorcycle through all 48 contiguous
United States and Alaska in under 10 days, or even that she has ridden
for 1,000 miles a day, three days in a row.

What makes Ardys Kellerman unique is that she usually rides her
motorcycle alone. What makes Kellerman a very special woman is that she
is 71 years old and has five great-grandchildren."

The 3 Iron Butt Rallies she has finished are pretty cool too.

check out the entire article, she's amazing.

I don't need to read the article. I've met her....several times.

Go get her and we'll arrange a ride. Otherwise, I'm calling bullshit on you.

Rally first and maybe we'll talk.

Don't fret "Impersonator".. I haven't forgotten you or your sleazy side
kick.. Just real busy surrounding all your usenet biker buddies on Reeky..
That's a pretty sizable chore, even for an old warhorse.. Besides you and
John Moran should be more concerned about the "outside interests" that are
taking a look at you both.. Must be exciting in that fish bowl I've put you
    in...

I didn't say I knew her real well. I said I've met her several times.

You're the one pumping up talking about getting her to ride.

Does she send you Christmas presents like Billy Gibbons? BTW, what DID you
    get this year from him?

Nah, when riding those rides they skip across those states in a matter of
minutes. They ride the borders of the states to make it though. It's not
like they're actually visiting the states, just crossing the state lines.
Ron Ayres was the first I've heard of that did that. He tried to do it the
quickest and ended up having a couple chase vehicles and a crew to revive
him at the check stops. The poor guy was a basket case when he finally did
get the bike stopped. I remember when he blasted through Texas (right in
your backyard....from Arkansas into Texas and back out) on that ride, he
looked like a sheet covering a sack of bones.

To hear it, it sounds really impressive....but when you see the map it's not
the same. I'm not taking away from anyone who does it, but it's not like
they're doing any sight seeing or could even tell anyone what the state
looks like. You ask them what Ohio or Utah looks like and they'll say
"concrete with a shoulder". That sort of thing isn't my idea of enjoyment.
When I ride, I at least want to be able to know what I'm seeing.

Well guys ol' "Bounty on his ass" John Moran is trying to get some attention
off himself and with all that time on his hands while he's still hiding from
    the bounty hunters, he
s catching up on his reading.. Might as well to try to get some attention by
claiming he's personal friends with who he reads about..

If it was a rock star, he'd be posting on an entertainment rag group.. Get
    it ?
