Ta. Remind me to listen to it when I'm more awake.

In fact, I'll post this, then when I collect news at some point
tomorrow this will be unread and act as a reminder. Genius.

    I'd settle for something unsettling:

    Montagues and Capulets
    Seasons in the Sun
    Smack My Bitch Up
    We'll Meet Again

....and finally, horribly, as the box trundles towards the flames:

    Tomorrow Belongs To Me.

    Last one, promise.

A cartoon-like biogrpahy which I want playing whilst I am being toasted:

*Fumblin' with the Blues by Tom Waits* - lyrics follow:

Friday left me fumblin' with the blues
And it's hard to win when you always lose
Because the nightspots spend your spirit
Beat your head against the wall
Two dead ends and you've still got to choose

    You know the bartenders
    They all know my name
And they catch me when I'm pulling up lame
    And I'm a pool-shooting-shimmy-shyster shaking my head
When I should be living clean instead

You know the ladies I've been seeing off and on
Well they spend your love and then they're gone
You can't be lovin' someone who is savage and cruel
Take your love and then they leave on out of town
    No they do

Well now fallin' in love is such a breeze
But its standin' up that's so hard for me
I wanna squeeze you but I'm scared to death I'd break your back
    You know your perfume
Well it won't let me be

You know the bartenders all know my name
And they catch me when I'm pulling up lame
    And I'm a pool-shooting-shimmy-shyster shaking my head
When I should be living clean instead

    Come on baby
    Let your love light shine
Gotta bury me inside of your fire
Because your eyes are 'nough to blind me
You're like a-looking at the sun
You gotta whisper tell me I'm the one
Come on and whisper tell me I'm the one
Gotta whisper tell me I'm the one
Come on and whisper tell me I'm the one

Doh! I missed this post. My performance[1] was committed do vinyl circa
1972 and I have neither a copy, download - nor can I find one.

Apropos of nothing, I think that the piece has stuck with me because of
its secular leanings and the cracking orchestration. One has to listen
    to it LOUD.

    [1] Such as it was.

  11. Interesting discussion. I was in a break from animation work and was
editing wedding video highlights for a couple of months. It paid the
bills but it was bloody painful. Especially the songs people picked to
put behind the edit. If I ever meet Bryan Adams I swear I'm going to
    knuckle the bastard.

But for my funeral there would be a song by a local Tasmanian band
called Enola Fall called Jerusalem that would have to be played. No
    argument. It's my ringtone.

Then: I Wish I Had An Angel by Nightwish.
    Then: Lethean River by Tristania
Then: Sleep Now In The Fire by Rage Against The Machine.
