    Microsoft think you can't...

"Dynamic disks are not supported on portable computers or on Windows XP
Home Edition-based computers. You cannot create mirrored volumes or
RAID-5 volumes on Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Professional, or
    Windows XP 64-Bit Edition-based computers."

It's bollocks. Some modern PCs will support RAID1 in hardware. Others
won't. Depends entirely on the controller. If it does, you'll either
find it in the host bios, in the controller bios (selected during POST)
or in some app from the vendor to be configured post-install.

Whatever was wrong with replying that they're not as dangerous as
brushes and gloves? I knew you had a bit of experience of this sort of
    stuff from previous conversations.

I've had a brew and a smoke, then analaysed the situation and decided
that the only safe way to do it is to get an east European immigrant
to work as your labourer. Give him all the risky jobs and make him
work long hours for minimum wage. It's got to be a way forward.

    "Personal Outsourcing"

Hire 2 Bulgarians to do your current work, and pay them with 1/3 of your
    pay.

Then as you'll have most of your time free get another job, where you
    can...

    Hire 2 Bulgarians to....

  4. During bootup go into the SATA hardware manager.
    Define RAID 1
    Reboot.

  5. Fair enough - they wrote the damn thing after all..
Nope. Most modern motherboards that have SATA have built-in RAID1
    capability.
Indeed it does depend on the controller - but most modern controllers
    do SATA RAID.

Make sure you define the mirroring the correct way round - it's really
annoying to find you've rebuilt from the empty mirror onto the data you
    want to protect.

Speaking from experience, eh? I must admit, I've never made that
mistake, as it's not that easy to do.

    "Oh yes it is!"

    Select disk 1
    Select disk 2
    Select OK
    Warning yadda yadda yadda
Select "Course I know what I'm doing"
