Took the old TV arial off the roof, put up a new one with mast-head
    pre-amp. Replaced a dodgy feeder and that's it. Finally I've a decent,
working antenna to drive my PVR.

Speaking of which I'm most disappointed that the 500GB HD formats at
something like 465GB so the PVR has something like 978GB of storage in
total; lots, but still less than 1TB.

Also played about with spanning stuff across two disks to give me a
700GB 'data' disk. Isn't XP clever, specially when you can (apparently)
RAID two disks together in a fault tolerant way; which is the next
    project on my desktop.

I was pootling around balmy Fiddlelick today on my 10R. The temperature
really dropped when the sun said goodnight though.

Eh? Spanning two disks is not giving you fault tolerance.

No, spanning doesn't. Another option does. As I said "next project on
    desktop".

Just trying to understand if it was:

    a) Humour
    b) Dig for being off topic
    c) None of the above

Damn right. It was a case of head under the wheelarch and arse in the
air while I could still feel my fingers and there was sufficient light
to finish the job. Chilly ears by the time it was all over.

I don't think that you can mirror disks in XP (ICBW). In 2003 Server,
you can though (but only basic disk management functions can be done).

However, the only reason that the disk management is fairly decent, is
because the s/w has been written by Veritas.

    Andy Bonwick tossed off:
Heh, I decided to use my old HJC with clear visor and fog city, rather
than my new Black Shoei with black visor when I gave the Zephyr a run
    late yesterday afternoon.

Bloody good it was, with new low bars and a non sticking throttle.

Ahh, I was warm and toasty in my shed spannering the Zephyr, with the
tube heater cranked up full and the cat asleep on the bike cover.

    A perfect Saturday afternoon.

  16. <confused> In winter the sun is lower so you need the tinted visor more, no?

  17. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Andy Bonwick belched forth and ejected the
    following:
I dunno.. I got soaked[1] and was bloody freezing today whilst hooning
around East Sussex today and yesterday pleasantly surprised myself at
how quickly I was taking corners and just generally being very smooth.

It must be my old age because I don't remember ever feeling like IDGAF
if the road was wet. I just rode the thing and it was great.

[1] Well, my kit got soaked, I was dry as a bone

I shall be using my SOShoei from now until the sun stays out for longer.
It's a real arse trying to see anything after about 3.45pm at the
    moment.
