Before Tab permanaently lost interest in everything we were thinking about
making preparations to consider the possiblity of doing a bit of racing. Not
planning on winning Superbikes obviously, just having a bit of a laugh. We'd
hired a garage and were looking for a bike. The cnut stills owes me £50 in
    fact.

Nothing's much changed for me in the interest stakes and having sampled the
joys of hospital food I want more. Is there anyone out there who wants to do
this? Ideally with garage space and a towing vehicle/van?

So far I've asked darsy but with his whip-cracking SO calling the shots I
thought I'd see if anyone else is potentially interested in living the dream
before senility drops its keks and lubes up.

    Let's dialogue.

your proposition of "can we go racing on your bike, only I haven't a
garage or a car or a trailer" wasn't the best offer I've had all day.

and hey, I didn't use the girlfriend as an excuse; I used "fear of
crashing" and "it's also Blaney's bike".

Unless Blaney wants to be part of the race team, or you're providing
an alternative race bike, of course, in which case, I might be more
    interested.

Ii was bigging you up. Or rather, not smalling you down.
I'm happy to put in the cash for my half/third for sure for all
requirements, I just want to get it going and don't have the resources to do
it all myself, Ie, i don't want to have to hire a garage, buy a car and all
the shit, etc. I also would prefer the learning experience to be shared with
other idiots like myself. Maybe we can use the cash from the "invention".
You did apply for the patent right?:)

    sounds suspiciously fair.
    well, I have a garage - that bit's sorted.
I'm currently attempting to sell the Jeep - I do intend to replace it
with something with a tow-bar. I've not got a trailer though.

Actually, I was conversing with Blaney about this - I sort of think
hiring a van would be a better bet than paying for a towbar/trailer,
because it's more secure, and you can fit a lot of other crap in the
back as well as the bike.
the biggest stumbling block you or I would have is that we can't take
bikes apart and put them back together (though I've got a good deal of
the tools required to do so).
    err, what, sure.

I've got a garage, but to be honest I'm a bit scared of motorbikes

A lot of people start club racing with a trailer, but it's not long
before they find that the additional stuff they start hauling along
needs a van. This is especially true if there's a couple of you
sharing. And, it provides somewhere to hide from the rain.
The "putting back together" bit will probably be required sooner
rather than later. But, to be honest, there's worse ways to learn
than on a race bike, which at least just has to be functional, rather
    than pretty and/or road legal.

That's what I'm thinking. And with others it'll be an opportunity to stand
around, stroking my chin and "Hmm"ing. Beats sitting reading and writing
this drivel all day. Basically like team ukrm but crapper.

There's nothing to fear but fear itself. And badly crashing, obviously.

On the basis that a heart attack, congenital brain weakness or road crash
can happily see us off I'm prepared to take my chances.

Anyway, I've been run over by a bike, didn't do me any harm. Poofs, the lot
    of them.

I figure the first few races will be a bit nerve wracking and then the
frustration of being so shit will kick in and it'll become a bit more fun
    and competitive.

It's not like people that race were born that way. At some point they had
to stop being a wimp and do it, because the prospect of enjoying it
    outweighed their trepidation.

  15. I could potentially be interested but bear in mind I've got no trailer, no
    van and I'm in Cheshire.

I'm also slower than an arthiritic hedgehog with a sore foot.

And I can't afford the race fees.

Nor can I fix things if they go wrong.

In principal though, I'm all for it.

Where abouts in Cheshire are you?
I'm in Northwich, just up the road from J&S.

I just need to know one thing: Do you have leathers with "Mr Fantastic" on
    the back?

Yep, that's about the size of it.
That too. As a fairly recent inductee into racing. I can definitely
say that I've never had so much fun on a bike. The mixture of aggression,
concentration, fear, adrenaline and just the simple joy of absolutely
caning the tits off a fast motorbike to the best of your ability, is quite
    intoxicating.

    Go for it.

So you're no use even as comedy relief. I'm sorry, try Team UKRM.
