  1. Doesn't that make it a classic?

They still make farty commuters in India and such places (although India's
getting rich nowadays with all the jobs they've taken from us, they may go
upmarket soon) but they're mostly singles, a thing with a C90 looking
engine in a proper frame is popular (it's hard to get the fourth rider on
if the tank isn't in the expected place). Most of my Indian
colleagues ride such bikes and are quite happy with them. Twins are rare.
    As are Enfields.

And there seems to be a thing called a "CBR125" (contradiction in terms?)
marketed in the UK these days. I saw one in Sainsburys' bike park the
other day. With a note sellotaped to it "your keys are with the customer
service department inside". Which I think says something about the people
who ride these, and the diligence and integrity of Sainsburys' staff (but
perhaps no-one would have wanted to steal it).

How so? CB is Honda's designation for road bikes, the "R" was added
when they started getting liquid cooling. CBR has become associated
with sports bikes, but the CBR1000 was never especially sporty... The
CBR 125 feeds off the association with the CBR6 etc, just as the NSR125
    did...

    Awooga awooga! Generalisation alert!

Both the CBR600 and the CBR1000 were classed by Honda as sports bikes
when they were first introduced and it was only when the CBR900RR came
out that Honda re-designated the thou as a sports tourer.

When a new sports range comes out it seems like manufactures just stick
an extra 'R' on the end.

Oh OK, didn't know that. I suppose it was about as "sporty" as the old
ZX10, when you think about it.
    True...

ZX10 was a much sportier bike, not so much of a lard-bucket as the
    Honda

  9. Now I come to think of it, I knew a chap who owned, and liked, a B31 once.
He did admit that it wasn't perfect. He had an A65 (unit version) for
when he needed a reliable bike. And he wasn't particularly old, this was
nearly 20 years ago and I think he was in his twenties then. But, he did
used to live in a Reliant Robin parked up on the Ridgeway in Oxfordshire,
so he could play his trumpet without interruption. He had a garage
elsewhere naturally, to keep his bikes in. So he could possibly be
regarded as unconventional. Nice chap he was. I sometimes wonder what he's
    up to these days.

Thus spake Ian Northeast unto the assembled multitudes:
Sounds entirely normal to like a B31 once. After the first day, things
taken a steep downward turn :)

  11. Went for 36 quid in the end. I had hoped for more, given the initial
interest, but I guess people came to their senses.

    Still, not bad.
