Home 'work' PC = Vista Ultimate 64 - works fine[1].
Media Centre = Vista Home Premium 32 - works fine.
Laptop = XP Pro - works fine.
Work PC = XP Pro - works fine.

[1] As long as I avoid Chrome.

I reckon only you will know if it came out of the box like that, so it's no
    use asking here.

Hmmmm... the one that you tinker with the most?
    Let's see... I've got:

    P3 1GHz running Ubuntu (main PC, news server, mail server, blah, blah);
P4 ~3GHz (I think) running XP Pro (PVR box)
P3 600MHz running Xubuntu (garage PC)
.... and a ~8 year old Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop, running XP, that I
    haven't fired up for months.

If you're giving away anything better than that, throw it in this
direction. Better still, bring it here in person, and we'll put you up
for the night and feed you.

Ah, i've had good results with Chrome, as long as you stay well
    patched.

I use it a lot on XP.

My main bugbear with Vista is the lack of software comptability, I
don't see why I should shell out to upgrade working programs, just to
get it to play with Vista. I'll stay with my perfectly functioning XP,
    thanks.
