Use Avast instead, it's less of a resource hog than AVG.

Mate, bat it and go back to XP.

On the whole, you will find it a less soul destroying experience.

Sounds like you've well & truly fucked it. I'd start from scratch,
making sure you don't manage to cram any 32 bit drivers on if it's 64
bit Vista, & vice versa. Also make sure you do all the Windows updates
before trying to install anything else.

Well, no, I doubt we'll ever give you that moniker :)

Looking at the serried array of computers in front of me, I have

1 Athlon XP 1900 running Vista Home Premium
    1 Athlon XP 2300 running Suse11
    1 Intel P4 running CentOS
1 Sempron 64 running XP home
    1 Athlon 64X2 running Redhat 5
1 Intel Core2Duo running XP pro
    1 P4 2.6Ghz running Win 2000

Guess which is giving me the most pain and suffering ...

Oh, and if anyone needs a computer, I appear to have a surfeit ;)

    Cheers,
    Paul.

No. It's working fine for me too.

Re: the OP, I dumped AVG ages ago and use Avast now. Works fine with my
    Vista box.
