'Gloop' and suchlike. Anybody use them, and if so are they any good.

Used to use 'Gloop' ( or is it Goop?, can't remember ). Best of the
    aftermarket treatments IME.

Had a Scuberth helmet with an anti-mist visor. That wasn't bad. Best of the
lot, without a doubt IMO is not a treatment, but a Fog City or Oxford visor
insert. Tried them both, and they are both excellent. Well worth the money.

Some folk don't get on with them as they apparently distort the field of
vision. Can't say I've ever noticed.

My current lid was fitted with an Oxford insert when I bought it six months
ago. It is still not fogging, nor has it ever. Example was yesterday. I was
riding from 9am until 5:30pm, in the rain, not one little patch of mist
    formed.

Gloop or Goop as the other poster mentioned are IME shite. Get a "Fog
City" visor insert instead and forget about misting.

I found Gloop quite effective and long lasting, but difficult to apply.
I also found that the visor wasn't entirely clear.

Bob Heath spray is much easier to use and leaves the visor clear, but
doesn't last as long. In very bad conditions I've had to re-apply it
    half-way through a journey.

These days I use a visor insert of one sort or another. I still use Bob
Heath spray on my glasses, (where it lasts much longer than on a visor).

Fog city works for me, after ages of demisting sprays and cloths, I now
use a mask and a visor insert, not a sign of misting.

What part, or defect in a lid makes it fog up?
I thought all of them did unless they had a fitted mask.

Funny other makes do not do that if that's the case.
It has to be a helluva selling point.
I've seen a few posters with that at the top, but TBH couldn't give
enough of a toss to bother.
    Thanks for the feedback.

I concur for the Fog City, haven't tried the Oxford equivalent...
They shouldn't noticably distort the FoV if fitted properly, however,
they can cause a "spangling" effect at night when it's raining which is
    quite distracting.

I don't have that much of a problem with it, apart from maybe it would
have been nice to have had an email asking if I minded before they used
    it. I wouldn't have objected.

It could be one of 2 people, one of whom I know quite well[1], the other
    I don't know at all[2].

[1] The MD. I drank him 120 quid out of pocket one night at a sales
staff's night on the piss. He pulled me to one side and asked just how
many more I was capable of drinking before telling me I'd better buy my
own from then on after I'd explained. Later that night I nicked his
popadums in the Indian Restaurant and three weeks after that I told him
in a roundabout way that he'd employed a backstabbing **** for the job
of Sales Manager, and then quit my job. We still say hello when we meet,
I think he realises now that I was right about the SM.

I appreciate this on principle, but by posting to usenet it does become
part of the public domain, and was fully credited as your writing.. If
he'd taken your words but credited them as somebody else's by all means
    rip the kidneys out..

    YMMV.

Oh sure, it's as rude as anything.. but salesmen (in general, there are
a few notable exceptions) do seem to use manners only when it suits
    them.

The Uvex has a double glazed visor. Like Lazer Revolutions for example.
They are very good at not misting, but I can still mist them up (but only
in extreme conditions when standing still)

    That reminds me.......
