Seem to be somewhat hard to find in the 50% brighter variety.

Anyone still have the Ride magazine where they rated them[1]? I recall the
VP's coming first, but I'm interested in where the Halford own-brand
equivalent came, as my local Halford's has lots :)

[1] I recycled mine only a few weeks ago :-/

So basically Philips are the better ones.

My local M&P appear to be confused though - they told me they had the 30%
vision plus in stock, but no 50%.
Checking Philip's website, they don't make a 30% VisionPlus bulb (they do
however make a normal 30% brighter bulb).

I use Osram Silverstar. Claimed to be brighter due to the gas
technology, they actually seem to be. After my experience with
melting RF wiring with 100W bulbs, I expected to be plunged back into
gloom with a 55/65W standard rated bulb - but I was pleasantly
surprised. Plenty of good bright white light: I'd recommend them.

Where did you get them from as a matter of interest?

The Halfords ones are better than the 35W OEM bulbs in the Wing
<shock>, and better still than plain old H4s that went in before thhey
failed during my submarine adventures in Scotland last August.

The osram is referenced in the URL posted above. Came top in an
Autotrader test compared to the VP & Halfords

Nippy Normans (used to be MPS) has the VP

Recommended, supplied and discounted by my local (proper) motor parts
    shop in Flitwick.

    They're widely available, iwt.

I was kind of looking for a real shop - the internet is great, but takes
ages and is a right pain if you aren't at home when it's delivered (the PO
is only open til 12 on a Saturday and we tend to be busy on Saturday
    mornings).

My enlighted employers don't accept personal deliveries for staff.

Fairly common with large companies, that.

Sounds ghastly. The Pru has always been well behaved in this respect,
as evidenced by the presence of a GL 1500 driveshaft on my desk when I
    got to work on Monday.

Of course, taking a big tin of Quality Street to the post-room for
    Xmas helps, too.

Fucking annoying tho. I'm led to believe that Microsoft make a point
of supporting their employees in using internet shopping, for obvious
reasons. Given that my company is in the IT/internet business, I
    really can't understand their attitude.

    I have seriously considered it.

But I'm not leaving this place until they escort me to the door with
my belongings in a plastic bag and a large cheque in my back pocket.

  18. They allow it here but only under protest :)

I understand why they don't like it - with a busy Dispatch department
lots of stuff arrives and departs and it's not always easy to tell what
is personal and what is business other than the fact that no purchase
req exists on the system for the item in question.
