Viewing Masked Passwords

Recently, I killed a domain that I was no longer using and now realise
that I have an app which uses an email address from that domain, and a
password, as the licence key. Of course, the email with the password
wasn't one of the ones I saved before releasing the domain.

Can anyone recommend a safe util to view masked passwords in Windows,
before I go download one full of nasty, malicious crap?

You could try installing Firefox, which says it imports passwords from
IE. then you can use Firefox's Tools/Options [Security] tba, and view
    saved passwords.

Haven't tried that in a while myself though.

    Cheers.

In time-honoured fashion, as soon as I posted, I thought of the
solution. Although I had let the domain name lapse, the hosting service
was still valid. So, a quick entry in the hosts file meant I could
resolve the name and access the mail server.

Heh, I never knew you could do that. Rather handy.

Snadboy's revealer will do some but not all, it works with Outlook and
    Webpages though.

Symantec lists it as a virus for some reason but I have never had any
    bother with it.

Pretty much what I did, via migrating to Apple Mail first.

Do you use IE with Google Mail, and if so, do you get the annoying
extra tab(s)[1] that keep opening? I've Googled (ha!) and there
doesn't seem to be a cure for it that I can find, bar using Firefox.
