  1. lookin at gettin the XR400 Rego'ed

Thought about Rec-Rego, but the cops are going nazi style on bikes in
bush even stock with just mirrors removed.. stupid shit.

So, loookin at Vicroads site, $593.80 seems the cost, but they dont
mention wat CC's that is from to.
eg, i cant see where they say upto 110 is cheaper etc.. or dont they
    do that anymore?
They just class a m/cycle as "light vehicle is a car, motorcycle"
    http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Registration/RegistrationFees.htm

If its the same cost for 400 or 610cc, mate will swap his Husky 610
    for the XR..

The price difference is in the TAC charge not the registration charge.
    TAC costs $70 for < 61cc, $275 for < 126cc, $364 for < 501cc and $497
    for > 500cc.

  3. So, thats on top of the $593 rego fee to Vicroads???? WTF? So its
    nearly $1100 rego for a 501cc?

    How does this shit work!?!

    or are they total charges....

Thanks Nev.. I wont believe anything anyone says ever again about
    ya....

    I think it's more. Nev's very specific.

    A 50cc motor is <61, so there's 70 + 275 for it being under 126cc and
another 364 for it being under 501.. that's just over 700. Cheaper to
    rego a 510cc bike, only $497.

    Sorry Nev :)

If you've managed to get this far through life without working it out,
    it's too late.

The rego fee would include the rego charge to Vicroads (quite a small
amount), the TAC 3rd party insurance as well as GST and duties.

    Cheers,
    Dale.
