    Hi All

Been overseas in India (work, sadly) for a few weeks - land of the 100cc
single cylinder ocean of bikes. Sales are up this year, they are expecting
to ship 16 million new units this year - kind of puts our 30000 per year
into perspective. Nothing like seeing a TV ad for a 125 cc Honda Karisma
with the slogan "Jet Set Go!" and proudly advertising a top speed of 100
km/h. The ad featured the rider being pursued by a fighter jet which he
managed to elude. (I'm not making this up).

Anyway, I've only just gotten hold of the last AMCN (I'm a week or two
behind) and must say I enjoyed Boris's column about Sydney. I personally
think that they're both wrong and that Brisbane is the best capital city for
biking (and I am a Sydneyite). Hobart would beat them all if it wasn't for
the weather. Never ridden in Perth though so I'm not able to make a thorough
    comparison.

Back to the Vic-NSW conflict, I am curious as to the historical reasons why
Vic has a motorcycle advisory board and NSW doesn't. Also, has the board
been of value? (I noticed it didn't help prevent the front number plate or
$50 tax, but then failures get more press coverage than successes.) Have
efforts been made to set up a similar board in NSW?

Just wait a moment while I adjust the drag, please. I wasn't expecting such
    a solid bite.

Yep, dry and cold. Cold being the most negative part of that combination :)

I have a front numberplate on my bike? Sorry! I hadn't noticed it.
