  2. What do you have to do to restart the engine? Does pulling the clutch
level several times seem to help? Does turning the handlebars this way
and that way help, Does putting the kickstand down help? Does putting
    the transmission in neutral help?

You may have an electrical problem. A loose connector on the ignition
control unit might be the problem. Also check the ignition kill switch,
and the clutch, neutral, and sidestand safety interlock switches if
    your Honda has those.

On the other hand, you might have a carburetor problem. What sound does
the engine make when it quits? Does the engine just go "Br-r-r-r-r-r-r"
as you roll to a stop. That's probably electrical, but if you roll off
the gas to slow down and the exhaust sound is piffle-piffle-SNAP! or
fartPOP! and the engine quits, that's dirty idle jets...

I've described many many times here how to clean out dirty idle jets.
    Google for "kaybearjr@aol +EPA"...
