  2. Were they still making the VF750 in 1993? The VFR came out in 1986. Do you
mean a VF or a VFR?

A mate had a VF years ago, in my recollection it wasn't very good, it
didn't help that I didn't fit it (my knees just hit the wide ridge on the
tank). And it wasn't very reliable, having the notorious chocolate
camshafts. You will not IMO be pleased with swapping a GPz9 for one of
    them.

The VFR on the other hand is excellent, I've had two. A bit less sporty
than the GPz, the suspension is very soft and the bars are quite high.
Otherwise overall performance is very similar, it's less powerful but
lighter. The original shock dies in about 20K, but a '93 will have had it
replaced by now. And it's a Honda so the regulator/rectifier tends to
fail. Other than that they'll do 100K easily, then things start wearing
out. They are excellent do everything bikes and very reliable.

    Regards, Ian

  4. Avoid like the utter plague. One of the most disastrous bikes Honda
    ever, ever, ever made.

Seriously - don't go near it, at any price.

Thus spake The Older Gentleman unto the assembled multitudes:
I'd buy one for a fiver just for the fun of watching it self-destruct
(helped by zero maintenance, natch) and then throwing it away. Or is even
    that inadvisable? :)

  9. Well the one I was looking at, suddenly (suprise suprise) has had its
listing removed, then relisted in a revised format to say ".......Bad
points are there is a slight tapping/knocking sound from the engine
which I am led to belive is quite common for the era of bike......."
    hmmmmmm
Sounds a weeeeeee bit ominous to moi.
    Catch the listing here:
