    Job done.

As I said, no being silly, or it's all off.

it's not all it's cracked up to be. I'd love to be able to get to
sleep before 12/1am or so, without recourse to heavy drinking.

On the other hand, not ever needing an alarm clock is handy.

People who sleep longer at night live on average 10 years longer(tm)

I eat more than I did before and am probably drinking more (1) but eating
completely different food and taking regular exercise. The weight came off
    no problemo.

    (1) As in daily wine with T and G&DT before bed

The absolute no.1 piece of advice. Just 30 mins brisk walk a day will do.

I don't know wether it is a mind thing, but I tend to eat more berries than
    high carb stuff now anyway.
However, I am partial to an apple or two.

I am eating a lot more salad than I used to. Once or twice a day, and I eat
meat and green veg for dinner.
I does work, as I said I have lost over a stone on it in 4 weeks.

Interesting. But that extra 10 years of experience is at the end of
your life, when you're old. Whereas the short-sleepers manage to
squeeze a few extra hours into every day during their whole life.

Mind you, quick sum of 2 hours per night, over 40 years (say 20 to 60)
only yields an extra 3 and a bit years.

    Amazing innit!
I sat staring at walls for months after my bin. Depression set in big time.
Once the bones had healed and I could follow the exercise recommendations
from the diabetic clinic (1) the sun came out to shine again inside a week.

The effects of regular daily exercise on mental health are quite amazing (it
seems). Much more so than the more normal weekend activity binges.

    (1) completely ignoring the NHS dietary recommendations though

Well I've sat at home for a week now. I can't go out as I'm off work and
there are too many people round here who know me.
I tried telling the wife that I feel worse for not being at work, seems
she'd told the boss that I was really bad. Boss tried to get me
to take another week off. I can't, I'll be suicidal by then. I really,
really love my job, I know its stressful, but I can cut down on that I'm
    sure.
Sitting at home is terrible, nothing on telly, only housework to do. This NG
is the only thing keeping me sane. And that is really saying something!

Well I can't believe how much better I feel and it's only been 2 days FFS.
They should try to market this feeling, it really is better than drugs.

I've met the both of you. Nick definitely appears fatter, but possibly
    only because you're taller.

(tm) = I made it up
I think I did read it somewhere one though so it must be true.

Anyway, that 8 hours should include sex when going to bed, when you wake up
horny in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning. These 5
hour jockeys just can't hack it ;o)

Get the wife to drive you to a park somewhere. Limp out to the car looking
    pathetic.
You wouldn't be the first, not by a long way

Wife's at work, **** it I'm off out, I can't stand it indoors anymore. I'm
gonna drive around in a big hat and some fake glasses.
I'll take the Rover as no-one from work knows about that car.

Overweight strains your breathing and will make it worse
White coat rises in BP are very common, get a home one.
    Well done.
Lots of the diuretic drugs have minor or few side effects, Tenoretic is
a (quite) mild tablet that works quite well.
    That I have.
When I was found to have Hypertension, I was put staight onto Tenoretic
25mg and they worked quite well. I lasted about 6 months and hated the
thoght of being on them all my life. I went to the docs and he told me I
would not work again (I was still working) and I would be on them for
    life.
I asked him about bodybuilding and he warned me off. When he was asked
for a second opinion, he sent me to Sunderland General where I was seen
by a woman consultant who was Miss N. England (or similar) for
    bodybuilding.
After all the tests I was given the all clear to start slowly. Within 2
year my weight was 11 stone from 15 1/2st I then started putting weight
on and ended up 12 1/2 st and appearing in competitions for
    bodybuilding.
Anyway, I stopped the tablets after a year or so from the start, and my
BP was back to normal, due to weight loss and fitness.
Mind, I am once again a little fat **** and I am scared to look at a BP
    monitor now.
