I'd really appreciate some help here. Friend has a scrap car sitting in
the driveway. It is moveable but not legally driveable. Do local
Councils offer removal and scrapping services or must it be arranged
privately (and how/who). I'm assuming some cost implication either way.

    1. Remove Chassis number
    2. Remove Engine number
    3. Remove Personal Items
    4 Insert mother-in-law
    5. Set alight.
    6. Wait for Council to pick up remains.

  3. When you say movable do you actually mean driveable?

If you were thinking of driving it somewhere, why not book an MOT for it
somewhere near where you're going to leave it and just make sure it
    never gets there :)
I don't know about where you live but the council take cars away free
    round here.

there are flyers posted all around Guildford cars collected free, dunno if
    its a scrapyard?
I would have thought someone would take it in your area?

Hasn't the law changed where they have to be collected for at least
free. I know the scrappy here pays a bit for them now, mate got £60
for his old Rover, which I though was a bloody good deal for a Rover.

Scrap steel now has some value so a breaker may take it away for free.

What's the car? The banger racing fraternity may be keen to to take
it off his hands for free.

It's too damaged for anything but spares.

I get the odd car scrapped and am happy to take 50 quid for it IF the
    merchant collects.

Left long enough in one place, someone usually comes knocking asking if
"that car" can be taken away. "For a consideration" is usually my answer and
    that's another one gone.

I've NEVER paid for a car to be scrapped or collected for scrapping. Even
with the new rules, anyone should realise that if some **** wants the car
(and if they didn't, they wouldn't collect it) there's money in it, so a
nominal 50 quid in your pocket should be the first requirement.

Depending on the area, paint it orange or green. It'll disappear
    shortly afterwards.
