Vandalism prevention?

My mate has a CG[1], and he hasn't been very lucky with it. In the last few
months, he's slid off on a roundabout (so I had to straighten everything up
for him), had his seat slashed while he was parked up outside one of his
uni's, and his brakes and suspension settings played with.

A few weeks ago, he was riding home from work with a HGV coming towards him,
along King Street [2]from Middlewich to Rudheath (Cheshire), and as he got
near the truck, somone pulled out to overtake it, so he had to take to the
grass at about 50mph, and took a nose dive and a long slide, which compared
to how it could of turned out, was quite lucky. No one stopped.

And just the other day, while his bike was parked up outside another mates,
    somone broke his steering lock.

The crashes appear to be wrong place, wrong time thing, but does anyone have
any hints and tips to sort out the vandalism[3]?

    TIA

[2]Some of you might know it.
[3]sitting and waiting with a baseball bat sounds fun, but he's been on the
wrong side of the law with assault before, so perhaps not the best idea

    snip
If you can't secure it put it where everyone has to look at the fkn thing
all the time and vandals are dead visible?

*Then* shoot the fkrs if they go near it ;-P

Following the TWOC of m'boy's TS last Friday we have given him a small
battery alarm that is fecking loud. He clips this on the side of the saddle
and arms it when parking and if anyone moves the bike it screameth mightily.

Thieves could drop it in a bucket of water swiftly...

They could, if they had a handy bucket of water with them. As it is quite
small and unnoticeable I think they would most likely shit themselves when
it went off as it is incredibly load for such a small item. SWMBO reckons
we should get him one of those chain locks with in built alarm, but they are
a bit expensive for a shite old moped.
