Values of Used Motorcycles in the UK?

I certainly could, I could buy one from someone who wants to rid
    himself of his used
bike. Then the next investment would be in the freight costs and you
would have to create or buy some sort of shipping container. Then the
    taxes, duties, etc.

I'm tempted to ship a cheapie or even just a rolling chassis just to
gain the experience and to limit potential losses if something is a bit
    imperfect.

(Local businesses here love expanding into the UK or Ireland because of
    the ease of doing so.)

But who would I ship it to? Maybe the first shipment should go to a
motorcycle dealer because he could handle it.

I live in the Land of Zatamm, do you?

  3. <snort> And the majority of them fail. Here's a question: what currency is
used in the UK or Ireland? No googling allowed.

A bit like the Schwarzenegger then.

Having seen as many "ride away" ****-up's on Youtube as I have, it's plain
to see that lots of "riders" on your side of the pond only think they can
ride. Desn't seem to stop 'em buying huge tractors to ride though.

Are those "eye protectors" mandatory, or is he only wearing them to win a
bet? I must say though, those two blokes have a sartorial elegance some of
    us can only dream of.

    And Norn Iron?

Some years ago, AOL announced they were setting up shop locally and bringing
employment to the UK when they set up their new callcentre in, err,
    Dublin...

OK, pound sterling for the UK, (my keyboard is not equipped with the
    "L" that
    stands for pound.

Northern Ireland is part of the UK? pound sterling.

The rest of Ireland? Their own currency or the Euro. I really don't
    know.

But I do know that an american buck is accepted at face value anywhere,
    anytime,
    in the whole world.

My best answer: American currency is the defacto currency for the whole
world. (Don't leave home without it!)

If you want to read about a local co that did well in Ireland try this:
    Boston Scientific
and Ireland. The offshoring of production to that location worked out
    well because of
only slight differences in language and culture and because of the
educated and literate Irish work force.

The americans who moved there for the outsourcing seemed to be happy
with the country but were a bit annoyed at the irish habit of shops
closing down so early in the day that they couldn't get any shopping
    done.

    You know wrong.

If you try to buy anything with dollars anywhere in Western Europe,
outside of a few popular tourist venues that specifically advertise
that they'll rip you off like this, you'll be packed off to the
    nearest bank to exchange them.

Shame they couldn't keep the skies of New York safe a few years back.
No they don't. There are signs in shops that say they don't too.
