No, it's a Suzuki GT750, $970, and there are a couple on ebay now
with starting bids of 2000 pounds, but they don't have metalflake paint.

Perhaps you should study ebay to see what is considered a classic
over here but junk in the USA. Maybe bevel-drive Ducatis,
    Laverda triples, or some two-strokes.

Greetings from the Land of the Free:

There are always the old bikes that you can find in sheds or barns or
that otherwise have been abandoned and haven't been run in years.

They never have titles or license plates and putting them back into
    circulation as properly
registered, titled, legal, on-road vehicles is usually more trouble
    than they are worth.

They still have some value since there is room for off-roading in the
    US and Canada.

My thought was that off-roading in the UK was scarce just due to the
    size of the island.

I am surprised, however, to find that the chinese are now flooding the
lower end of the motorcycle market in the UK. I guess that we'll see
them here in a few years.

BTW: u.r.m is absolutely full of experts with street smarts. I do
enjoy hearing from all of you.

Another thought, what was that motorcycle that launched rockets in the
James Bond flick back in the sixties, was it a brit 650 of one sort or
    another?

I remember it from back then, they destroyed the bike in the movie to
    get rid of evidence.

Yeah, it's just aboutthe size of a small postage stamp. No room to swing a
cat, let alone ride a fucking off-road bike.
You need to take a look at your domestic scene now, not in a few years. The
Chinee bikes are already there and flourishing.
It wasn't a Brit bike, it was a Jap bike. IIRC, a Kwack 750 Turbo.

here's what's available from a dealer in Minneapolis:

Minneapolis is, of course, the locale for zatamm.

(I need to read it again one of these decades.)

I might just try to export one.

  8. Oh, for ****'s sake, how can you be so dim?

Buy a bike from a dealer, export it, and try and make a profit?

Tip - buy from where the dealer buys.

Well, the action does extend a little further across the US than just
    the twin cities.
Point of information. Contrary to my original posting the ZATAMM bike
    was actually a Honda CB77 305 Superhawk.

It did, googled it, found it, fucking pricey.

Now lodged as a search item in ebay.

That appears to be one of the original black engined Z1s, and if it is
then its extremely rare and sought after. I can't understand the
lowering and fitting of custom parts on a bike like that. The dealer
would get far better money with an original 4-4 exhaust and stock
    seat/shocks.

I don't have a problem with the way it's been done, but if you want to
customise a bike like that, find something not quite as rare and
    desireable.

  20. To be honest, it could be anything from an original Z1 to a Z1B, because
the black engine paint isn't original (the cylinder head fin edges were
    left shiny on the original)
