Value of a Divvy 6 with 44k. Prolly for TOG.

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Toad of Toad Hall, Sep 24, 2003.

  1. First of all will people buy a bike with this kind of milage at all? I
wouldn't and I know it's a good un + that Divvies go on forever!

Secondly if it is worth cash of any kind is £1200 quid a realistic
    *asking* [1] price for:

    Yamaha XJ600S Diversion,
    1994/M,
    Met Green,
    44000 dry miles,
    2 Owners,
    10 Mths MOT,
    Garaged from new,
    All Service Receipts,
    Givi Rack,
    Motad Nexxus

It's mint except for needing a new rear tyre.

I'm asking 'cos it's been in a couple of local papers (London) with no
response. I don't know if dropping the *asking* price to 1k is the
    answer or advertising more widely.

If the feeling is it's worth less than 1k I'll just keep it - it's too
good to chop out for peanuts.

BTW don't really want to sell it via this site so this aint an ad. [2]

    [1] I know I'll be coming down a bit - would drop to 1k.
[2] It would be like selling to a mate - I'd be terrified the f**king
thing would blow up and create bad feeling.

    Create bad feeling?

    In UKRM?

    Seems unlikely.

Where would you recomend I advertise this to best reach my target
market of people with 995 who want to buy high mileage Divvies?

  7. Its not a good time to try and sell a bike - I'm rtying to as well and
a guy I know who does motorcycle training has commented on how slow
    the market is.

Both would help [price drop/advertise more widely] but I would make
sure you have completely exhausted all the freebie ads just outside
    your immediate area first.

But in turn, does that not make it a good time to buy? I'd like to
swap my FJR for a 'busa but none for sale down this way as far as I
    can see.
