    Ducati 916BP 1998 (S reg)
30,000 miles with full Ducati service history (mainly Pro-Twins).
£1,500 just spent (including complete new clutch, brake pads, 2 rockers and
    belts).
Mainly standard - high screen and radial brake master being the only
    exceptions.

Any suggestions on the best way to sell it this time of year would be useful
too. The dealers certainly aren't interested!

    Thanks

You will see lots being offered for silly money, they never sell though.
People know the 916 isn't a patch on the 996 too. £2500 to 3000 maybe to
    actually shift it.

Tempting though it is, I have my eye on a 998 already.

As others have said - at this time of year, 3k if you're lucky. You're
trying to sell a fragile piece of Italian exotica, in the middle of
    winter, when money is tight.

Now, if it was an original early 916, I'd advie you to wrap it in
woolly clothing and stash it away in a heated dehumidified garage for a
couple of decades. Which is about as long as you may take to sell yours.

Thanks Neil, that's the conclusion I had come to but just wanted to check.

I was tempted to keep it but can't justify it if I go for the 998. The good
news is that the 998 I want is a very good price.

I guess the important thing is you've learnt your lesson and won't make the
    same mistake again.
