Thanks, but I suspect there are many in the MC
    industry ready/willing/able to professionally eva-
    luate the latest offerings.

And, you're right. The annual bike show will be
in Dallas very soon. In the last few years, it had
been moved to Ft. Worth. But,
    http://www.motorcycleshows.com/
shows a return to Dallas for this year, on 11/14-
    through 11/16.

Thanks for the suggestion that made me look!

I've often heard that regret mentioned. But, I
don't think you'll hear it from me. I owned
the thing for 8.5 years, and 52.5K mikes.

With my type of riding it really just wasn't
well suited. On initial purchase, I'd intended
to make lots of long rides. But, I never really
got into the "travel around the country on a
motorcycle" thing. Hell, I don't even like to
    travel in a car/airplane.

The Valk was a great experience, but all
things must change. Strangely, one of the
items that I'll miss least are the questions
that I'd always receive, concerning the
    bike. Such as:

    "Is that a V8"
    "Is that a Harley"
    "How fast will it go"
"Is that a Honda Accord motor" - Yes, really
    "How many cylinders"
"Have you seen the new flathead V8 bikes" - ??

To most, my standard answers were - "It's a
    stripped down Gold Wing."

Now, the FJR just looks like so many other
bikes, no one really bothers to ask any ??

Bah. Those professionals are in the pockets of Big Business.

    Enjoy the bike show!

=========all the above is what I enjoy hearing from ''standard people on
the streets''......Often I tell 'em, it is a ''Hemmi''.
I use to not get much attention with my other Hondas, but riding a Valk,
I get as much as my Harley Friends (are more at times). Jerrys look like
a strip down GoldWing, mine looks like a ''Cruiser'' with one hell'uva
    big motor......heheheh

No ignorant ass. Mine does not look like a stripped down anything. Plus, I
    keep it clean.
