I'm looking to buy a vacuum gauge set (either 2 or 4 gauges) to sync my carbs.
Where's the best place to get gauges? Auto parts stores (repco, ABC, etc) don't
seem to sell these, they only have dash mounted gauges.

    thanks.

Mail order from Carbtune. Price ends up being pretty similar, and the
Carbtune is much better than either mercury or dial gauges.

  4. I've used a Carbtune years ago tuning twin SUs on various cars. I've got
mercury sticks now which suit the twins and the fours in my garage.

How do you find the Carbtune better? I like being able to see all four pots
at once and just level them up.

  5. Oops, just looked at the site. Its not like the old Carbtune at all. has
the same advantages as mercury sticks anyway.

That's what I do withthe carbtune. 2 pots, but the theory's there.

I found the mercury fragile, and after a while the tubes stained so were
harder to read, plus the mercury got bubbles in it.

    Go the Morgan Carbtune.

I have used both versions over the years. The mercury version and I now have
the stainless steel rod version. The latest model will set you back about
$140 OZ rubles to your door.
I have used the brand called Pro Motion which is mercury filled and will set
you back around the $160 mark and it doesn't have know where near the
    stability of the Morgan Carbtune.
    Hope this helps.

I made my own about 20 years ago and they still work great.
