    I've no experience of the 748's at all. I wonder how different the
    engine is.

    I've no idea about the engine differences, it'd be general reliability
    I would want improving because, no matter how good a bike looks or
    sounds, if it's unreliable it's not worth a wank.

    I can only agree. It's why I ran BMW boxers during the first half of the
    80's rather than any that unreliable Rice

    Hmm, the only BMW I've owned was an early 80's R100 and though it was
    reliable as in it always started it was more hassle to maintain the
    similar era Jap bikes.

    Modern rubbish > the /6 series.
    My R90/6 was so agricultural there was very little to maintain. Never
    went wrong or missed a beat. Routine servicing was a doddle. Ok , so it
    had points that needed changing and you had to tweak the carb balance
    once in a blue moon.

    You both spoiled my Lozzo bait.
    Mindewe before that I ran an nice RD or two to keep me away from
    unreliable small Jap 4T and Brit shite
