After 3 days of torrential rain in Yorkshire the weather clears up, blue skies reappear, birds sing. I head off to site in leather jacket and 501's, taking the scenic route. It's only a few miles. Dark clouds gather with unatural haste, black crows flock on the horizon. With a crack of thunder the heavens opened, monsoon rain, streets turn into rivers within seconds.# It took me 2 minutes to pull over and pull waterproofs on by which time every stitch of clothing was soaked through. None of that prepared me for the full lane wide 50 yard long diesel slick cunningly hidden under the raging torrent that was a road. <deep sigh> I'm heading out onto a construction site soon. Disaster is inevitable.
