    Depends on the firewall. It may be that all NNTP traffic goes through a
    NNTP aware proxy server, which may be logging the groups, etc.

    Alternatively if they've got an IDS in place, then they could look at
    everything.

    You've had your warning from your colleague, but clearly you think the
    risk is still worth it.

    The first draft of my contract at a previous job stipulated that
    "Use of company computers is prohibited".

    They wouldn't let me sign it :(
