  3. I know this is hard for you to understand, but newsagents have to make a
    profit.

You'll find more variety and quantity of magazines in my local Smiths
than in *any* independent newsagent in my area.

Now - if lots of people people buy a magazine, a shop will stock it
because they make money, too. If people don't buy a magazine, the shop
won't stock it, but will stock magazines which people *do* want to buy.

This is evidently veryt hard for you to understand.

Finally, I would add - if you want a magazine badly, and the shop
(whatever it is) doesn't usually stock it, you can always place an order
for it. I've done this, too.

    Or - you can subscribe.

This is very simple, but then so, I'm afraid, are you.

Crikey, that sounds right up street.

I vaguely remember Road rocket from about ten years ago. Was pretty good
    IIRC.

  7. Mark Graham's mag! Yeah, another mag for "real" bikers, which bit the
    dust. I liked it too.

I have a copy of that somewhere with an absolutely original and mint
RD400F on the front cover. The featured bike was up for sale at the
time, and I was in the process of buying it when someone else got there
    with the cash before me.

If you take Ride and Bike as examples, no. They have pandered to their
readers and lost some. Mostly those that don't like this weeks sooper
power ranger sports crotchrocket 600 test, and prefere something else.

Basically, no one forces you to buy it, if you don't like it don't buy it
    and then moan.
Or if it can sell by subscription over the net, then why not ?

That was a good one, but very short lived. I've got all the half-dozen or so
issues, but it disappeared without trace because it was squeezed out by
'Japanese Bikes', which just seemed to be reprints of old road tests.

Wasn't the "japanese bikes" (or whatever it were called) a spoiler from
EMAP which disappeared the month after "Japanese Classics" folded?

"Fast Classics" was another one I'd have liked to see survive a bit
    longer.
