But for Luca Cadalora the Yanks have been all-conquoring at Laguna-Saca:
2005 MotoGP Laguna Seca HAYDEN, Nicky USA Honda
1994 500cc Laguna Seca CADALORA, Luca ITA Yamaha
1993 500cc Laguna Seca KOCINSKI, John USA Cagiva
1991 500cc Laguna Seca RAINEY, Wayne USA Yamaha
1990 500cc Laguna Seca RAINEY, Wayne USA Yamaha
1989 500cc Laguna Seca RAINEY, Wayne USA Yamaha
1988 500cc Laguna Seca LAWSON, Eddie USA Yamaha

add in the Daytona races and it's still pretty yank-o-centric at 66.7%:
1965 500cc Daytona HAILWOOD, Mike GBR MV Agusta
1964 500cc Daytona HAILWOOD, Mike GBR MV Agusta

1990 500cc Phillip Island GARDNER, Wayne AUS Honda
1989 500cc Phillip Island GARDNER, Wayne AUS Honda

1996 500cc Eastern Creek CAPIROSSI, Loris ITA Yamaha
1995 500cc Eastern Creek DOOHAN, Mick AUS Honda

    Nev.. Guest

Seems to me that [coincidentally?] the years when a USA GP event has
been held have coincided with the eras when there have been a large
number of Yankee riders.. Currently there are Hopkins, Hayden, Roberts
Jr. & Edwards. 88-94 Rainey, Schwantz, Lawson, Mamola, Kocinski &
Chandler were regulars. Between 94 and 04 there was a real drought of
riders from the USA... Russell & Roberts Jr.. anyone else?

I've noticed that too Nev, I suspect it isn't coincidence but rather
    marketing forces.

Yeah; I think the lack of government and corporate interest meant that
Laguna Seca could never be brought up to an international standard.
Apparently it's still not but it's just too damn important for Dorna to
have the USGP so everybody just kinda' looks the other way!
