I thought the broadcast on CBS this year was pretty good, all things
    considered.

I am disappointed that we didn't get at least a 1 1/2 hour show. I think
they could have done well with a pre-race show with a couple of
interviews and a quick history of the season so far. Rather it was one
hour and live. Literally the broadcast started at 2pm and I think the
green flag dropped at 2:01 or 2:02. At the end, they got a quick
interview with Rossi and Nicky and they were done for the day.

Broadcast team were Greg White and Kevin Schwantz. Kevin was much better
and more relaxed this year. Frankly, how could he not be relaxed with
Greg White screaming in his ear. He's probably thinking "how can I screw
up when Greg here is screaming OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!"

Greg was a _bit_ over the top today, a little close to the "SUNDAY
SUNDAY SUNDAY" crowd, but his enthusiasm was so much better than what we
    had last year.

Perhaps we'll get a longer show for Indy, but overall I think it went
    pretty good.

    Regards,

"Considering" the 5 minute commercial in some of the best parts of
Vale/Casey, then returning with canned crap about how many GP's
'Merkans had won, THEN going off with a Pedrosa vid and all this while
the GOAT and the current Champ go balls to the F'ing wall??? Yeah, that
    was impressive!
Hi-Def? Nope, but there was some telemetry and that was cool. Schwantz
and White? AFAIC they both suk, though I admit Kevin's a lot better
    than Spencer.
I agree it was a good show, but it had to do with the epic racing
involved and not the actual production, as the local high school media
class would have been decent too. Bottom line? An "A" for content, a
"F" for production and directing, that averages to a "C" overall...

We are spoilt in the UK, the BBC shows the entire race live,
commercial free (no breaks at all) and in wide screen.

It's a trade off. I'm a Yank living in the UK and find that either
the BBC or the parallel EurosportUK coverage is miles better than any
US coverage. Having watched both BBC and EurosportUK, I prefer the
commentary team of EurosportUK. The two guys plus Randy Mamola beat
the two BBC guys (Julian Ryder?) hands down. They remind me a bit of
the Varsha-Machette-Hobbs team on Speed in the US, whom I miss dearly
    while watching ITV's F1 coverage.
