Ural/sidecar top speed 75mhh?

This UK version is probably sold under a different model name in Canada
but the specs should be similar. Can anyone confirm that a rig like this
can do 75 mph? (I thought they maxed out at 65mph... and I mean not
downhill with a tailwind).

You might see 75 on the speedo, but 65mph is much more like it, yes. I
think the solo flat twins are capable of about 80, so 75mph for a
combo is in the realms of fantasy.

I remember taking Platy's Neval outfit round the circuit at Chimay a
few years ago, and I could just get the speedo up to about 65.
Admittedly this was with a pillion passenger and someone else[1] in
the chair.

[1] Who'd discovered the battery isolation switch and was trying to
turn it off[2]. It was dark at the time.

I've seen 75(ish) on the speedo of a 650. What it was actually doing is a
matter for conjecture, but it was nipping past HGVs on the motorway. See

Additionally, I'd check if that page was up-to-date, and they actually have
new machines of that spec in stock and actually available to purchase, as
people like F2 and MPC are selling the current model for about £4000 more.

Well, that was in a straight line[1]

[1] OK, not entirely straight, so 'meandering' rather than 'arrow-
stright' but that was due to the outfit, really. Might have been
60mph, actually.

It sorts itself out after it gets a bit faster than idling - well I don't
look at it much. You also have to bear in mind the speedo doesn't even
start until above 5mph.
