Has anyone got a short and sweet answer as to the least problematic
way to upgrade the clutch on the Kawa G Model Nomad (carb 1999).
I’ve got to tear into it this winter to see which oil-pump drive
gear I have (replace if it is the plastic one) and since the bike has
a tad over 21K miles, now seems like a good time to replace/upgrade
the clutch since the basket has to come out to replace the oil-pump
    drive gear.

I have (sort of) deduced from what I read that the 1500 Mean Streak
clutch spring will fit, as might the heavier 1600 Classic spring.
Then of course there are the after-market variations – Barnett,
etc., etc. But simple (cheap) is good, I am not inclined toward a
    wholesale replacement.

Is anyone familiar with the upgrade/conversion and how did it go.

    Thanks, Larry
