Well, this morning at about 6:50 I headed off from Tarago for my first
91km commute to Canberra aboard the still-nameless CT90. 4th gear is
good for about 80kph downhill, or 65-70kph on the flat. The slightest
grade means a shift back to 3rd and 60kph though.

I arrived at about 8:40, so an average speed of ~50kph. That included
two short stops[1], so I'd expect 10 hours elapsed should get me to
Griffith tomorrow night, if all goes well.

I haven't filled it up yet, so I don't know how many km to the litre I
    can expect. Probably about 25-30.

[1] Once to fix the buzzing left mirror[2], and again when the motor
unexpectedly went *blooorr* and lost power up a hill. It seems OK
    again now though, *shrug*;
[2] caused by the glass being loose in the mirror head.

Gees mate, haven't you heard of walking? :)
I was under the apprehension that for the CT90, consumption was measured in
km/ml. Friends of mine rode theirs around Tassie a few years ago and were
constantly embarrassed to accept driveway service for the tiny amount of
    petrol required.
    Is this possible?? :)
    Cheers and have fun!

Arrived at Griffith, 450km, 11.5l fuel. Best economy was 40 km/l
    (105mpg!!).
Should arrive at Mildura at 5pm tomorrow. :-"

(I think that last thing is supposed to be some kind of smiley but I'm
really not conversant with these things.......)

    and then:
You see a lot more scenery at 60kph... :-"

(another one of those squiggle things that kinda looks a bit like the
Kellogs Frosties tiger with half it's whiskers missing.....)
