Brothers die in separate motorcycle accidents

Steven Kerr and Jeremy Kerr are killed in the Butler County crashes.

Two brothers were killed Saturday in two separate Butler County
crashes. Both were riding motorcycles and were on the same road.

In the first, Steven Lynn Kerr, 37, of West Sunbury, was driving south
on Route 38 at 8:56 p.m. when his motorcycle left the east berm and
struck a speed limit sign, state police said.

The crash happened in Center Township, Butler County.

At 10:48 p.m., Jeremy E. Kerr, 29, of Hilliards, was driving north on
Route 38 at a high rate of speed when his motorcycle struck the back
end of a car driven by Veronica M. Smith, 25, of North Washington.

State police said Smith's car was stopped in traffic. Smith and her
passenger, Donna Smith, also of North Washington, suffered minor
    injuries.

Steven Kerr was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a speed limit
sign. Less than two hours later, and only about 100 yards away, his
younger brother was fatally injured when his motorcycle crashed into the
    rear of a stopped vehicle.

Police say he was speeding as he headed for the scene of his brother's
    accident.
