Just something i want to check out.. i think i know the answer, but i'm
    willing to be proven wrong,

got the TSX 125, it's a 1986 model, 2 stroke of course, now i'm thinking
it'll run on unleaded, reason being there are no valves to recess due to the
    lack of lead,

however are there any other little bits mr suzuki puts in these engines that
like lead?? i can't think of any, there's no power valves on this model, not
that they should need lead anyway, there'll be a set of reeds, a few ports,
and the piston and barrel, nowt that should be affected by not having a diet
    of lead?

she's got CDI, so retarding the ignition is not an option, but then again
it'll be a low compression engine anyway.. can you even hear a 2 stroke
    crosser style bike pink? :)

The potassium in the LRP eats (for want of a better description) the
    crank case seals.

This was debated at length a year or so ago. The scientific evidence,
fully referenced and backed up, was compelling.

  3. Oh yes. And it destroys the indicator fluid, too.

    Unleaded good.

    Leaded not good.

The vast majority of Japanese bike engines made since about 1973 run
unleaded. Very few 2 strokes ever needed the higher octane of what was 4*
unless they were visited by the porting fairy.

Unleaded is what Mr.Suzuki specified. I'd go with that.

Is that as in "leaded not necessary" or "leaded does harm"?

    Bit of both really.

Did no real harm other than increasing deposits in the head/plug+exhaust
port area. A tankful every now and then never did any of my 2smokes any
harm I could discern, but did leave a deposit plaque on the end of the
plug. If I could have read it it would probably have said something along
the lines of ' This plaque was awarded to another teen-muppet who thought
4* would make his shonky old smoker faster'

Not necessary would have been more accurate for 2 strokes without a
catalytic converter, could harm for those with like the TDR125.

Does LRP adversly affect catalytic converters like lead does?

Answer - no. Or, to be very accurate, yes, very slowly and over tens of
    thousands of miles.

A tankful or two won't hurt.
