This beautiful little "kid's bike" is no toy. Can anyone guess what
it is? The photo is from a card someone sent me, and was evidently
taken in the late 1940's or 1950's in France. The teles and primary
chain and clutch suggest this was a serious build, not a toy. RZ
means nothing to me (outside modern Yams), so it may just be the
    fabricator's initials. Have a look: http://www.oldstox.com/images/Little motorcycle.jpg

  7. Pah. Children were real children in those days; perfectly sanguine about
the risk of maiming and disfigurement.

He must has strange legs then, where his ankles are below the soles of his
    feet.

He really shouldn't be wearing sandals though, it's not a scooter after all.

Yes, but can anyone identify the engine?
And would the builder have cut down a Norton frame to accommodate a
    tint 2-stroke single? Help?

  11. Yep. Two a penny they were, right up until they were all used up,
sometime in the late 80s and they started fetching stupid money.
