Undercover cop cars?

  1. Couldn't help but notice the black Commodore SS ute complete with wanker fog
lights, heavy tinted windows and chrome roll bar behind the cabin pulled up
behind a car on the side of the road with flashing blue and reds, in the
north of the state this morning.
Saw another one down the south of the state last week, one of those shitty
    green SS utes, same story.
Pulled over by a shitty green SS Commodore sedan in the same area south a
    few weeks ago.
Next thing, they will have a Toyota Torago complete with "Mum's Taxi"
    sticker on the back window

Wondering what will happen if they attempt to pull me over and I keep
driving because it does not look like a cop car?

Especially since "Sorry officer, you had your fog lights on in clear
weather. I just assumed a real police officer wouldn't drive around
breaking the law like that, so I thought you were a fake."

  8. They're so obvious, you can't miss them.

Every one I've seen has 5% tinted windows all round, even on the
driver/passenger sides, where (correct me if I'm wrong) only 25% (or clearer)
    is legal for everyone else.

If you pass them on the side, you might (with enough light) see the gear on
the dash through the "apparently legal on cop cars only" 5% tint on the front
    windows.

Look for three glass antennas that all look like GSM phone antennas on the
    back window.

During the day, with enough light, you might be able to see the lights
mounted on the rear parcel shelf.

You should be able to see the lights mounted behind the front grille if
    you're in front of them.

They don't have hubcaps, plastic or otherwise, so you'll likely find either
    mags or 'fashonable' steel rims.
This was effectively outlawed many years ago due to complaints. (in nsw
anyway). They used to drive around hired BMWs with skis on the roof racks.

Along with the above, there's a ton of tell-tale signs you can look for to
spot cops, including their driving habits, how they move around traffic and such.

You'll be found (in your car) wrapped around a tree somewhere .. of course only
AFTER the 'chase' was called off! ;)

There was an unmarked Kia Carnivale being used in Albury. I felt sorry for
    the poor policeman.

You think he was using it for HWP? No, it was being used
to deliver summons'. We have many different makes and models
whcih are all used for different purposes.

Wondering what will happen if they attempt to pull me over and I keep
So, you are telling me that I have to pull over even if the car does not
look or resemble a police car at all, so, in theory I could be having my car
hijacked by some idiot who wants my car but, because they have flashing
lights i have to pull over for them.

Sounds right for Vic though !
Yep for going 3km/h over the limit ! :p
There can never be enough Police around the snowfield, the number of wankers
that think with Snow chains on that you can still drive 80km/h astounds me.
Funny when you seem them crashed into a wall of snow/ice a few kms up/down
    the mountain.

Best is the 4wd's without chains (vic last season) overtaking everyone then
sliding into a nice big tree :D

John Tserkezis is of the opinion:
Not to mention the dressed-up life-size doll in a baby seat in the back (I
shit you not). And that one was a hideous turquoise-coloured Skyline or
    Bluebird.

  18. Wonder how those women who disappeared up the coast about 10years back
looked after being pulled over by someone pretending to be a cop.

If I remember rightly the cops had to follow some women miles till they
found a servo or somewhere they felt safe to pullover.

I heard they're operating a white Volvo around Wodonga, complete
with baby seat and the driver all covered in tufts of fake orange
hair (perhaps to look like an orangutan!)
