I have a few more stored on film in my SLR, which I'll probably get
processed and scanned sometime around December... ;-)

I hereby submit these to Papa Knobdoodle for captioning:

By the way, my truck-starting issues on Sunday morning were probably at
least partly caused by the points gap closing up, leaving it with 10
degrees of dwell rather than the more desirable 52 degrees that the
    manual recommends. ;-)

  4. My brief report...

I sms-ed Tim on friday afternoon about heading out via Oberon, but the
number I used was about 3 years out of date, so he didn't reply. I then
proceeded to get drunk on Friday night with the girlfiend, and so slept
in till 11am or so on Saturday. That meant I started packing for the
trip about 1pm after having headed out to the cafe for breakfast.

I went via the Royal National Park, Picton Rd, Mt Kembla Rd, Macquarie
Pass, in Robertson I noticed Annette setting up her new shop so I
stopped and chatted with her for half an hour or so, then headed through
Moss Vale, Exeter, and Bundanoon to Marulan, then into Golburn the back
way using the Bungonia turnoff, stopped in Golburn to pick up some
poofter drinks for BTH, then down the Braidwood Rd to the site. I didn't
quite get there before sundown like I was hoping to, setting up the tent
in daylight would have been somewhat easier than doing it at 3am when
everything more than 2 metres from the fire was freezing over and I was
3 parts pished like I ended up doing :)

On Sunday I headed right out of BTH's driveway and meandered down the
dirt road to Braidwood, then had a great run down Kings Highway, turned
north at the bottom, detoured into Jervis Bay to drop in on a friend who
wasn't home, went back through Nowra, turned inland to Kangaroo Valley,
then from Robertson I pretty much retraced my steps from the day before.

Thanks to BTH for the venue and meals, to Pisshead for the Wild Turkey,
and to everyone for the company...

(note to self, +5 rated sleeping bags aren't much use when theres ice
freezing up from the condensation inside the tent... Pete, how'd you
fare in that swanky new swag in that cold?)

  5. Thanks once again to BTH for bunging on another Unaugural.
Even though he did "spray" me within minutes of my arrival...

Postman Pat (and his brother's "BOOTH TRANSPORT" T-shirt---dunno if that had
    anything to do with it...)

  6. My alleged -10 rated sleeping bag also proved fairly useless.

It's far from a _new_ swag but the new -5 rated bag inside had me waking up
in the middle of the night chattering to myself. After I crawled into the
spare +5 rated bag as well (wondering why the swag was hard to fold back)
it was warm as toast. **** these man made, new age fibre things. I'm off to
the disposals to buy another German army, proper thing for quarter of the
    price!

tell me about it...my new fangdangled +5 was fine after I folded my blanket
over on it twice and put my leathers on top of that while wearing a t-shirt,
    windcheater, longjohns and socks!

the 25 year Aussie deposals bag, one of the first Dacron bags never ever let
me down, the only problem is it takes up one full pannier

It was the "pumpkin coach" award, for arriving on 4 wheels and leaving
before midnight. I was kind of hoping Marko would win it, but we did
the whole awards thing before he arrived...

You blokes should try a Tin Tent, with 2 Thermarests, 1 foam mattress, 6
sheepskins, 2 doonas... and a cuddlepot.

Transport AND accommodation! Could be something to this...

Ah yes, that was before we moved the blanket into the ashes (and roasted
    Keren's shoes for dessert).

  19. To Marko's credit, he didn't leave until after 2am, by which stage
everyone except Pisshead, Pat, (I think) Tim, and I had slunk off to
    sleep... Pikers!
