I'm not sure about wheel chairs, but they didn't do mountain roads(?) or
aquaducts (originally Carthagian).

 

Don't forget the pizzas and the grappa.

 

Unless you are referring to a specific italian gut rot, I think
wine had been around for centuries.

I stopped my education into italian wines when my nice bottle of australian
award winning wine was put away to be replaced by chateau "le-cardboard"
in italian wine bottles.
