The date will be May 9, 2009. This is a week later than usual, but
happens to coincide with the full moon. Please mark your calendars.

Given the number of aus.motorcycles people who have colonised
aus.bicycle (Zebee, Theo, Me, Lemmiwinks, Tex, Moike, Tim +anyone else
I've forgotten), and the fact that I've done about the same number of
km aboard a bicycle this year as on a motorcycle, it seems only fair
to invite the aus.bicycle people along as well.

In short, the Unaugural is an annual gathering of aus.moto people in a
paddock on my farmlet near Tarago, NSW. Weather permitting, we have a
bonfire of sufficient size to provide a reasonable simulation of
Armageddon. There is overnight camping, awards for various
achievements (such as longest distance travelled to attend), and much
drinking of alcohol and telling of lies.

Think of it as the best parts of fishing, once one gets rid of all the
useless folderol of lines, hooks, boats, bait and water. (And fish).

Here are some photos from the most recent events:

Hoping to see some familiar faces, and some new ones, in 2009!

    Lighting bonfires, for one.

Making movies of the ensuing mayhem, for two.

She seems to have lost her ability to fall off her bike 200m from her
destination, after successfully riding 300km though.

I always thought the Loaded dog was the pub. Is this something different?

  14. OK, I stand(actually I sit) corrected.

I have some gear you might be able to use to, parallel port switch
thingies for sharing printers. I'll pack them anyway, they can go in
    the fire if not required.

urk, There is a nice little boxen (other projects) and a multipole
    switch in the basic ones*.

Does anyone have any use for vintage (early PC era) hardware?

*Yes, I've got a collection of recycled boxen for projects too.

  16. The Loaded Dog closed years ago
I have fond memories of being thrown out of there

  17. It may have closed down a lot of years ago, but it's been operating
for at least the 15 years, very busy weekend pub for Canberra riders.

Amusingly enough, one of the panels of the current "loaded dog" sign
fell off a couple of years ago to reveal the pub's original name:

    "Lake Bathurst Hotel"

Okay, I was talking about the Loaded Dog in Melbourne
but the Tarago one have a misteak in their hotel photos, with the one of the
Cobb and Co coach, it claims

    : Cobb & Co coach late 1800's

but shows the passengers in 20th century clothing, plus, the Commondore in
    the background gives it away
