I'm still keen to light up the bonfire, so let's pencil in September
    27 as the day.

Of course, the way the weather has been since April it might be just
as dry and crispy then as it was in May. I'll keep youse informed
about the likelihood of a large flaming pile of wood event (maybe I
    should install a webcam?)

If I didn't need one in May, why would I need one in September? :-D

I'll be the first piker ... I'll be at the Lamp seaside estate:

Unfortunately, I'll be in the car, as I will be working (two days) plus
taking back some of mum and dad's effects.

    Cheers

Did your parents pass on recently? If that's the case, then my
sympathies to you - I clearly haven't been following events closely
    enough.

The upside of losing parents ... inheritance!

Funny that my sister and I were in complete agreement - not selling this
    one!

I've been a tad distracted myself, and away from the newsgroup (anyone
    notice?).

    Feb 1995 - mum went
    Dec 2007 - dad went

Both their ashes are in the garden at The Gardens. At long last, I know
    who's on top!

    Cheers

  13. Don't blame you there. The whitest sand I think I've ever seen. And
still pretty much unmolested. I'd take down that Googlemaps link and
don't tell anyone where it is :)

  16. Trust me it is. One of my favourite beaches. And still mostly
undisturbed. I think I might have to rent it off Goaty for a break
    over summer . . .

4km of pure white surf beach, next to a granite point covered with
abalone and crayfish ... oh, there's a sandbar about 100m off shore with
    king flathead as well.
