First trip to this event. Any advice as to where good spectating places are?

Ahh... memories. I used to live very close to the roads used for the Ulster
GP, and regularly did laps of it on my CB125.

When I went there for the actual racing, many moons ago, there was a spot
near (IIRC) the Quarries, where you could watch for free, which was good. If
you don't mind paying to spectate, and you're local, ride the circuit a few
times before the day - that should give you an idea of where will be good.

Not a patch on the NW200 though.

Although the entry is *slightly* weaker than the NW (No Michael Rutter) its
a much better circuit. You'll not win any races at Dundrod by simply having
the fastest bike, its a real road circuit where real road racers win.

I'd suggest parking on the inside of the circuit as its possible to move
about to different viewing spots. "Deers Leap" halfway down the hill on the
inside of the circuit. Lie in the ditch with yer top half on the grass verge
as they wheelie down to hill past you. Inside or outside of the circuit at
"Quarries" or inside at "Dawsons" Avoid "Cochranstown" and "Quarterlands"
as they are usually very busy and slowish anyway. Like all road races the
fastest bits are usually best but the braking into the hairpin can be good.
"Wheelers" (Decent facilities for a road race) and "Tornagrough" are well
worth a look. Thats just about everywhere except "Cochranstown" and
    "Quarterlands" then!

There's also the Dundrod 150 races on Thursday night too (Weather
permitting, was washed out last year)

I simply preferred the atmosphere at the NW. You're probably only going to
be spectating at two or three different bends during a race, so the overall
quality of the circuit is almost immaterial. I just thought the NW had a
much better atmosphere, in terms of crowd, amount of other stuff going on
    etc.

The good spectating places are places where you have a good view.
Amenities which improve the quality of the spectating place are as
follows: toilet, pub, burger van, lap-dancing bar, cocaine dealer.

Let us know how you get on.
