It's an unfortunate fact of life that anyone who feels they've been
made a victim wants recompense. I'd sooner not have any evidence
available to help them even if it meant I couldn't make a claim
    myself.

Good idea but I do foresee ickle problems.

Comments from other posters regarding your early death for turning a
camera on them aside, you should just be killed anyway without any
    prerequisite:-

I did the full paperwork jobby on the team ukrm thing last year and it
needs loads of people if you want to do much more than a few out of
focus happy shots of yer mates.

To do it anywhere near properly you need two/three cameras on the "good"
corners. A couple elsewhere for the front wheel coming up on the rise
and high speed overtakes and similar one-place-on-the-track events and
three or four down the pit lane. The cameras will need to be manned and
on every second there is a bike on the track and ideally they should
have spotters as well as operators.

Although I am sure enough good footage could be obtained for a slickish
20 minute vid with two/three on the track, one/two in the pits, spotters
and good comms. Still less than perfect though. Get me a good
interviewer/presenter and I'll make you a better vid regardless of the
quality of the rest of it.

Worth mentioning also that I did ask that anybody coming to the KRC days
last year to bring their camera and wave it everywhere, no **** did.

    This is me.

    Could cause problems.

Overall not a bad idea but a bit resource requirements heavy if you want
to succeed with ease. Best idea is if I offer my services as an editor
and take whatever I get from folks who happen to turn up on the day. I
can write it off against me training budget no probs.

    BLATANT SPAM

If any of you out there want to have your time at a track day, or any
event for that matter, fully covered and recorded for amusement,
training or whatever purposes you wish; my professional services are
available at a hideous cost (discount for cash obviously). Contact
    details are in the sig.

Agree slightly but it does depend a lot on the edit. Put it to Keystone
Cops music, do a hand camera type flicker effect, add a bit of sepia,
wash out the colour slightly and the same pictures carry a whole
    different message.

Yes and no. As I see it if they are there for a track day they are
there to improve their skills and their concentration shouldn't be even
an inch outside the tarmac, at all times. However, this is ukrm we are
talking about and you make a very valid point. Probably the most valid.

A potential problem granted but there is an awful lot of what ifs and
not all of them are under the control of ukrm. Frinstance: when I went
to Mallory Park(?) with team ukrm pre season for a high speed track day
I counted three good quality video cameras and a veritable army of
stills machinery around the track. I don't suppose I saw all of it by
    any means.

Disagree strongly. For a number of reasons not the least of which is
that I think on bike videos are wank.

You should have lost your account by now. I'll have to send another
report but this time claim you're lushhead then you'll really be
    toasted.

Truly, TOG, the Fieldtown is strong in this one.

It may take time, but he will be ours. Oh yes.

I find myself agreeing with you and Mr. Bonwick. However, for race
experienced track people filming can help point out what a rider is doing
wrong but I suspect that the filming talked about here may not be that
    educational.

  15. These spanish (es.charla.moteros) guys seem to have got it sussed. They
managed to get enough folks together in december to hire the track at
Cartagena and previously at Guadix (I popped along to spectate).

The GTS goes round corners very well. I never did get that swingarm
down, though. Not trying hard enough obviously.

By "suitable machine" I kind of meant one that I wouldn't mind slinging
    up the track. ;^)

Perhaps we should just blag our way onto their event.

Ixion manage to have a two day event every year but I've heard that
last year they struggled to fill all the places. They run it in a
standard three group format with about 30 riders in each group which
is something like the number you'd get on any other trackday.

Don't most people post here when they've booked themself on a
trackday? Just carry on like that and sooner or later you'll get a
fair number turn up and that can be marked down as *the* trackday.
