I can't imagine having a farmer kill 6 prize cows just to make a set of 2
piece leathers for WUN can you?

Subject to numbers and date I reckon a god video could be produced of all
    participating.
Maybe Granddad Auvache, and myself could cover some of the more interesting
corners or areas of the track to see what transpires.
Obviously an edited (Paging UKRM Video editoralisti) end result could be
shown at the *osm following for entertainment and training purposes.

I aren't confident enough to actually do a Track event and don't have 2 cows
to kill for any leathers either but happy to help if required.
Have full fitted mobile workshop available for "Running" repairs etc if
enough people chip in for a drop of diesel.

I might be up for it if it's midlands northwards, Fri-Sun.

I'd be up for it if it was at a track I wanted to ride at and on a
Fri, Sat, Sun or Monday. I don't get enough holidays to blow them
using them up on midweek trackdays.

It might be worth looking into getting somewhere like Llandow where
you used to be able to hire the whole circuit and run it as an open
pit lane at a reasonable cost if there were enough of you.

    http://www.llandow.com/

A quick look at their pricing tells me that you get the circuit for
£1500 on a Monday or Friday and if you could sell enough places you
could get the cost down to under £70 each quite easily including
paying for a paramedic and an ambulance or two.

The only problem is organising it and my memory stretches back far
enough to remember the great trackday war of a few years back on here.
    Don't do it...

I don't know about others but I don't really want anyone filming me
doing a trackday and then playing it at a pub meet.

If that's not clear enough then I'll spell it out: If I see you
filming with a video camera when I'm riding my bike at a race circuit
I'll report you to the circuit operators who'll have you out of there
within 5 minutes. Of course this doesn't mean you can't contact the
circuit before the event and pay them for the pleasure of filming
there if you feel so inclined.

Most circuits can get a bit stroppy about 'commercial filming' if you
don't have permission and that often involves paying. Personally I
think that a lot of people would be put off (or look for) someone
filming them and that makes it a stupid idea.

I've often seen folk filming at track days, possibly only stills though.

    Fair comment
Another negative response after an offer of something for riders to see how
they look from another angle. Usually quite informative when looking back on
    footage of riding.

Of course this doesn't mean you can't contact the
    True,
    Might just do that

I have heard it said that having the camera at the track encourages
people to "play up" to the camera and end up either crashing or fucking
it up for someone else. I have no objections to a stills camera but I'd
not be too happy about video either.

I'm not anti filming if someone wants it to be for a constructive
reason but for it to be used as a source of amusement in the pub later
    I think it sucks.

Track riding is a completely different ball game to riding on the road
and for a novice rider to have the distraction of knowing some numpty
was hovering around filming them would not be a help.

Add in the fact that if you just happen to film an accident are you
going to destroy the footage straight away or are you going to allow
it to be used in the event of a coroners court and possibly lead to
    legal proceedings against another rider?

If you want another scenario are you going to stop the brawl if
footage proves someone has accidentally punted another rider off?

Still shots are fine because they prove **** all but videos apart from
on bike stuff are not a good idea.

I don't get this at all. Who minds getting the piss ripped? I've never
noticed you being precious about anything before either. I wish someone
had caught me trashing myself, I'd be able to laugh about it now. I got
taped going into the pea gravel at Silverstone, because I was folloing
the instructor (who led me in!, ****) I was pleased to give everyone a
    chuckle.
You may well be right in this, I don't know
Aye we do live in a dirty and complicated world

    Great isn't it?
I don't mind on board shots because nobody has to be anywhere near the
cameraman if they don't want to but I just think there'd be one or two
who'd worry too much about either trying to hit the perfect apex or
get their knee down on film for their own safety.

I'm confident it wouldn't be me having the piss taken. I'm also
confident that the majority of people wouldn't want to have a bunch of
people (some of which they didn't know) laughing like **** at their
    bike being totaled.

That's only a minor issue though. The main one is the fact that it'd
be a distraction and I don't want somebody being distracted as they go
into a corner with me lining them up for a pass on the exit.

Others might want to be filmed on the track. I'd suggest that if they
want to have constructive criticism of their riding then they should
attend one of the many race schools and learn properly.
